Percolation and connection times in multi-scale dynamic networks

چکیده

We study the effects of mobility on two crucial characteristics in multi-scale dynamic networks: percolation and connection times. Our analysis provides insights into question, to what extent long-time averages are well-approximated by expected values corresponding quantities, i.e., probabilities. In particular, we show that models, strong random may persist limit. Depending precise model choice, these take form a spatial birth–death process or Brownian motion. Despite variety structures appear limit, they can be tackled common framework with potential applicable more generally order identify limits network models going beyond examples considered present work.

Multi-scale approach to invasion percolation of rock fracture networks

A multi-scale scheme for the invasion percolation of rock fracture networks with heterogeneous fracture aperture fields is proposed. Inside fractures, fluid transport is calculated on the finest scale and found to be localized in channels as a consequence of the aperture field. The channel network is characterized and reduced to a vectorized artificial channel network (ACN). Different realizati...

Dynamic bandwidth allocation in multi-class connection-oriented networks

Multi-class network is becoming a more attractive solution to provide Quality-of-Service guarantee, as more quality-demanding applications are emerging. This research considers networks that provide connection-oriented services, as in ATM and MPLS technologies, for example. A common scheme for Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) in connection-oriented communications is to dynamically segregate b...

Diffusion trapping times and dynamic percolation in an Ising system.

We address the problem of diffusion through dynamic Ising network structures using random walkers (RWs) whose net displacements are partitioned into two contributions, arising from (1) transport through neighboring "conducting" clusters and (2) self-diffusion of the site on which the RW finds itself, respectively. At finite temperatures, the conducting clusters in the network exhibit correlated...

Percolation in directed scale-free networks.

Many complex networks in nature have directed links, a property that affects the network's navigability and large-scale topology. Here we study the percolation properties of such directed scale-free networks with correlated in and out degree distributions. We derive a phase diagram that indicates the existence of three regimes, determined by the values of the degree exponents. In the first regi...

Explosive percolation in scale-free networks.

We study scale-free networks constructed via a cooperative Achlioptas growth process. Links between nodes are introduced in order to produce a scale-free graph with given exponent lambda for the degree distribution, but the choice of each new link depends on the mass of the clusters that this link will merge. Networks constructed via this biased procedure show a percolation transition which str...
